Frank Hutter Department of Computer Science +1 (604)-822-6625 (LCI lab) |
I am a postdoc at the Computer Science Department at the University of
British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, working with Prof. Holger
Hoos and Prof. Kevin Leyton-Brown.
I am working on the intersection of machine learning and search for combinatorial
problems, my current focus being supervised machine learning for automated parameter
tuning of search algorithms.
Before becoming a postdoc I finished my PhD at UBC under the primary supervision of Prof. Holger
Hoos, co-supervised by Prof. Kevin Leyton-Brown and Prof.
Kevin Murphy.
I'm affiliated with the Laboratory
for Computational Intelligence (LCI) and the Bioinformatics
and Empirical & Theoretical Algorithmics Laboratory (BETA-Lab).
I host the Empirical Algorithmics
Reading Group (EARG).
Together with Marco Montes de Oca, I organized the Doctoral Symposium on Engineering Stochastic Local Search Algorithms (SLS-DS-09).
Togther with Wheeler Ruml, I organized the AAAI-06 workshop on Learning for Search.
There is more information available on my research
and papers.
