Escape

Escape was created as a course project for CS 395: Intro to Animation at Northwestern University in the spring term of 2005. This was the first animated short that I ever made. Escape is about a pineapple who tries to escape from the farm. It is approximately 30 seconds long, and was created using Alias Maya.

I was responsible for the entire project, including character and story development, modeling, texturing, rigging, and animating the character, modeling, texturing, and scripting the set, lighting, and rendering the film.

The story starts with the pineapple in his bush on the pineapple plantation. He climbs out of the bush and starts to cross the row. Along the way he looks to the side and realizes that there is a tractor coming. He jumps back and starts to run. The next time he looks up he sees a sign to the beach. Out of immediate danger but still trying to escape, he calmly walks towards the beach.
